NDOE News and Updates–The FSM National Department of Education started its first of five workshops for its Development of Student Learning Outcomes in Science. The first workshop was held during the week of February 24 – 28, 2020 at the Western and Central Pacific Commission Conference room in Kolonia, Pohnpei. Participants were from the four State Departments of Education which included the Science specialists, Curriculum & Instruction Chiefs, ECE – 2nd grade teachers, NDOE Specialists, IQBE Specialist and PREL.
The focus of the workshop was to develop the Benchmarks for ECE – 2nd grade for 5 standards in science and the Learning Outcomes (SLOs) for ECE – 2nd grade. This is part of a collaborative work to help improve teaching and student learning in science.
