The intent of STEM programs is to promote education and learning in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. These programs aim to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to succeed in these disciplines and prepare them for careers in the STEM fields.

STEM programs also strive to increase diversity and representation in these fields by encouraging underrepresented groups, such as women and minorities, to pursue careers in STEM. They often offer mentorship and outreach programs to provide support and guidance to students who may not have had access to STEM education and resources in the past.

Overall, the goal of STEM programs is to foster innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in students, and to prepare them for the challenges of a rapidly advancing technological society.

The Language Arts program or unit shall solicit and provide exemplary curriculum modules and technical assistance in language arts and social studies to SDOEs and schools in the FSM.  With on-going research and training workshops, the arts specialists will be able to replicate through training of state curriculum specialists as well as teachers and principal’s best curriculum modules and materials that are culturally relevant to the FSM.  The role of this unit ensures that FSM students have access to high-quality education in ARTS.

The FSM education system prioritizes STEM and Arts education with the objective of providing students with the necessary skills and knowledge to prepare them for the modern world’s challenges. The curriculum teams responsible for these subjects work to develop educational programs, materials, and resources that support this goal and ensure that students receive a high-quality education.
