FSM School Accreditation
Welcome to School Accreditation Homepage!
Title 40 of the FSM code requires schools to meet minimum standards in order to ensure that they provide a safe, healthy and appropriate learning environment for students. The FSM School Accreditation System (FSM-SAS) evaluates schools based on a set of standards and guidelines that have been established by the government. Schools are evaluated on various aspects including the quality of teaching and learning, the physical environment, and the availability of resources such as technology, books, and supplies.
The accreditation process involves a team of experts who visit the school and observe classes, interview teachers, students, and parents, and review the school’s policies and procedures. The team then provides a report to the school detailing its findings and making recommendations for improvement. Schools are expected to take these recommendations into account and make the necessary changes to meet the standards set by the FSM-SAS.
The ultimate goal of the FSM-SAS is to raise the level of student academic performance by ensuring that schools meet the minimum standards and providing support for improvement, the FSM-SAS helps schools create a learning environment that supports student success. This ultimately benefits the students, their families, and the broader FSM community by providing a well-educated population that is better equipped to succeed in the future.
The FSM School Accreditation System is a critical component of the education system in the Federated States of Micronesia. It helps to ensure that all schools meet minimum standards, provides support for improvement, and ultimately raises the level of student academic performance.
